Hulmes Court Bed & Breakfast is a Victorian Mansion built in the 1860′s. It was the home of Edward Hulme, one of the first surgeons in Dunedin. He helped found the Medical School at Otago University.
This is the neighborhood just after Hulmes Court was built:
Right next door to Hulmes Court is Hulmes Too – an Edwardian home built on the original grounds. This is where Norman lives, and you can stay in this house too!
Many of our rooms reflect the unique historic nature of the houses. We have beautiful plaster ceilings.
And the original fireplaces make lovely features in many of the rooms.
You will step back into the past when you stay at Hulmes Court Bed & Breakfast. You will almost forget that we are 3 minutes walk away from the centre of the city and the best restaurants and bars!
Bed and Breakfast
We have been busy here at Hulmes Court Bed and Breakfast in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Norman is getting married on Saturday, so we are helping him spruce things up before the big day!
Norman has been hard at work in the garden. 
Solstice has also been working hard. Here he is, supervising the gardening.
Our bed and breakfast has some fantastic garden areas that you can enjoy during your stay. In the summer, we have picnic tables and a barbeque for you to use, so you can make the most of the nice weather and picturesque surroundings. We also have a full kitchen for guests, in case you need to cook, or store food.

Accommodation in Dunedin
Hulmes Court Bed and Breakfast provides accommodation in Dunedin. It is a Victorian mansion, right next to the city centre!

Accommodation
We have accommodation in Dunedin! Hulmes Court is 5 minutes from the Octagon – the centre of the city! This is a very fast, downhill walk. We also have off street parking, so you can leave your car safely with us, and don’t have to worry about (or pay for) parking downtown.
As close as we are to the city centre, we are also right across the road from the historic Otago Girls High School, which was founded in 1870. The rest of the buildings around us are mostly residential houses, but we are just around the corner from the impressive St Joseph’s cathedral, built in 1876. This is where Norman (the owner of Hulmes Court) is getting married next weekend!
We have accommodation right in the middle of Dunedin! There is so much to see in walking distance of Hulmes Court Bed and Breakfast.
